Process

I use the following, straightforward approach when creating work for my clients.

Stage 1.

First, I will try to meet with a client or, failing that, communicate with the client via telephone or email. At this stage I am just trying to get an understanding of what the client wants and what size of project I will be dealing with. This is the best opportunity to learn something about each other and get an idea of whether or not we can work together. At this point contracts will be arranged which suit both parties.

If all goes well and contracts are signed, then we have come to an understanding on the best way to proceed with their vision and I can start to get creative.

Stage 2.

At this point I will start researching, looking for references and ideas on how to proceed with creating the clients vision

I would now begin preliminary sketches which I would present to the client. These would be very basic sketches showing rough ideas of my thought process and plans for the project.

Stage 3.

Once the client approves the preliminary sketches I can refine them to the point where they will resemble the final artwork. Once again, I will seek approval from the client before proceeding.

Stage 4.

If the client is happy I will proceed with finishing the illustration(s) and delivering them as required. If the client is not happy I will make revisions, (number of revisions will be stipulated in contract) before completion and delivery.

Stage 5.

After completion of the project I will contact the client to ensure that they are completely satisfied.

I am happy to provide further information concerning my creative process so feel free to contact me.
